Welding

What is welding?
Welding is a technique of making permanent joint. It is a process of joining two part of metal by heat or electricity. The temperature of heat produced by the electric arc is of the order of 6000c to 7000c.
Or

The process of joining two metals with the help of third metal by heating two metals at high temperature is called welding.

What are the types of welding?
1) Arc welding-
2) MIG welding,
3) TIG welding,
4) Flux cored arc welding,
5) submerged arc welding
6) electroslag welding
7) atomic hydrogen welding
8) Gas welding
9) resistance welding

What are the basic tools required for welding?
Safety Glasses,
Auto-Darkening welding helmet,
Chipping hammer,
Wire Brush,
Welding Gloves etc.

Which gases used in welding?
Shield gase
argon, helium, etc.

Fuel gases such as acetylene, propane, butane, etc.
Oxygen, use fuel gase in small amount in some shield gase mixture.

The following accessories use are under the gas welding processes..

1. Oxygen Cylinder
2. Acetylene Cylinder
3. cylinder manifold
4. Hydraulic back pressure valve
5. Flash back arrestor
6. Gas Purifier
7. Safety Valve
8. Pressure regulator or gas regulator
9. Hose Pipe
10. welding flashlight or blow pipe
11. lighter or igniter
12. cylinder trolley

What Are Types of welding joints?
1) Butt Joint
2).Lap joint
3) Corner joint .
4) Edge joint
5) T- Joint
6) V joint,
7) J joint,
8) U joint etc.

Name Differėnt types of welding positions?
1) Flat Position
2) Vertical position
3) Horizontal position
4) Overhead position

What is Brazing?
Brazing can join dissimilar metals such as aluminium, copper, nickel etc. Flux is often used during brazing.

What is the use of Head Screen?
Head screen is used to protect the face and eyes of the operator from the light rays of welding.

How many types of gas flame are used in welding?
Natural flame
Oxifizing flame
Carburizing flame

What is non-pressure welding?
Non pressure is joint method of metal by the application of heat without the uses of pressure..
non pressure welding is the also called fusion welding .

What is MIG welding?
(MIG) metal inert gas. Mig Also
known as Gas metal arc welding. In MIG welding proccess, an electric arc forms between a consumable MIG wire electrod and the work piece metal..

What is TIG welding?
Tig Full Form ( Tungsten Inert Gas ).
Tig welding Heat is produced as arc between the non consumble tungsten electrode and the workpiece

What do you mean by consumable welding electrode and Non- consumable welding electrode?
electrode melts and consumed during welding is called consumable electrode. electrode produce heat but not melts and filler rod is used to WELD. Ex- TIG WELDING

What are types of welding defects.?

👉 Some important Interview question and answer

What is F number in welding?
F no is filler metal group number.

For welding low to medium carbon steel which Welding electrode is used?
E6010 & E6013

For Welding Cast iron and low carbon steel with Gas welding which flame is used?
Neutral flame

To remove welding Defects which process is most commonly, used?
Pre-heating of work peice.

Why flux is used in Arc Welding?
Flux provide shielding around molten weld metal and prevent it from reaction with atmospheric Gases.

What first two digit of welding electrode number indicate ?
It indicates Minimum tensile strength in kilo pond per square inch.
